Working method

In-situ research and measurements help identify problems and guide solutions. Dedicated instruments, such as a 2-channel FFT analyser for noise and vibration measurements, are available.

Problems are addressed by translating the underlying physics into relevant formulas. An appropriate level of accuracy is used, ranging from rules of thumb and dedicated spreadsheets to expert computer programs such as Finite Element Models  (FEMAP) for strength calculations and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFdesign and SPL Comflo) for fluid calculations.

Dedicated courses are provided for the various specialisations to ensure that solutions stick.
